About
London Bridge Station Redevelopment Project and HS2 are a few large projects I have been involved in over the last few years. I was assigned to using my knowledge of existing underground utilities, 3D CAD and BIM to set up the way the projects designed around the existing infrastructure.
I have implemented a Survey Utilities CAD Specification, Permit to Dig Interface Control Document, Utilities As-Built procedure and also a Photogrammetry User Guide.
I have used innovation for the way surveys are captured for excavations. I have taken the PAS128 and PAS256 standards, produced my own Survey Utilities CAD Specification and have implemented it through HS2. I have looked at the way projects produce ‘As Built’s’ and am trying to improve on the way they work. I have implemented the way these projects use Permit to Dig drawings to provide more detailed information to keep the end users safer. I have provided the Designers with a 3D model so they can undertake clash detection and spatial awareness.
Before that I was working for Network Rail as a 3D/4D CAD specialist where I was involved with the implementation of the Common Data Environment (CDE), CAD Procedures and Standards for Thameslink. I have worked on modelling up London Bridge and Blackfriars station from point cloud survey data, 4D walkthrough of Blackfriars and 360° photo realistic renders of City Thameslink and St Pancras station. I have also been involved with BIM for the proposed works at London Bridge station.
Before that I was working for United AG as a CAD technical designer producing high performance aluminium systems (Doors, windows and curtain walling).
Prior to that I was working for Ergotechnics doing a similar job role. I was also producing technical manufacture drawings for joinery and metal work. I have also worked for FentonUK where I had been brought in to help with a Crossrail project for three London Underground stations.
So far in my career I have been involved in major projects during design, build and hand back. I have gained many lessons learnt by seeing and being involved with many difficulties through a project’s lifecycle.
